Over the last several decades, Taseko has been on a journey – steadily growing our business, expanding our asset base, and building value for our shareholders and the communities where we operate.
With Florence Copper in Arizona now producing and our continued success at the Gibraltar Mine in British Columbia, we are becoming one of North America’s leading copper producers.
Taseko is known not just for seeing opportunities where other mining companies don’t, but for delivering on those opportunities through hard work, perseverance and focused investment. We are known for going Beyond Potential.
And our track record speaks for itself: from acquiring Gibraltar for a single dollar and building it into Canada’s second-largest copper producer… to developing Florence Copper as the world’s first greenfield in-situ copper recovery operation and the first new major source of copper in the U.S. in more than a decade.
Given these successes and our expanding footprint in North America, Taseko leadership has determined the time is right for a new corporate name that reflects who we are and where we are headed.
Subject to the approval of shareholders at this year’s Annual General Meeting, our journey will continue as Trekor Metals Limited.
The name Trekor honours our history, while capturing our ambition and drive to lead in North America’s copper sector. Above all, it reflects the values that have always defined us: commitment, purpose, honesty, and resourcefulness.
